Public Service Programs

The Nebraska Foundation for Children's Vision coordinates and supports several charitable public service programs that provide vision care to Nebraska children. We do this in collaboration with the Nebraska Optometric Association and its member doctors, who provide services to support underserved children across Nebraska. NFCV also maintains a fund to cover costs of providing eye care and eyewear to Nebraska children who have no other options for care.

Vision care programs include:

See to Learn - a preventive initiative offering free vision assessments for any 3-year-old to help identify and address vision problems before a child enters kindergarten.

InfantSEE - a public health program that provides no-cost comprehensive eye and vision assessments for infants aged 6 to 12 months, to detect early, potential vision problems.

School and Community Clinics - support and templates for planning and organizing one-day vision clinics for Nebraska schools.

Sight for School Fund - resources to cover the exam fee and cost of eyewear for underserved children who do not qualify for any of the many charitable care options available throughout the state.
